London House debate on: "The Environment Imperative", 1 August 2012
02/9/2013
The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, invited the Directors of GRS to the London House debate on "The Environment Imperative". It was one of many events which Boris had arranged to coincide with the Olympics when all eyes of the World were on London.
The keynote speaker was Matt Ridley a renowned science writer, journalist, biologist and businessman. As is typical of Matt, it was a controversial, thought provoking and entertaining debate. Ralph Silva, the facilitator, did an excellent job in making sure everything ran smoothly and on time but also allowing for the natural flow for debate.
Boris wasn't at the debate itself but did put in an appearance at the Mayoral Reception afterwards where Bobby and Greer Deal were pleased to have a chat with him about the life sciences and the environment. See News for more information about Bobby and Greer's involvement.
Bobby and Greer were part of an exclusive and invited audience for the debate. On arriving at London House, they were both ushered to the front row which means that they frequently appear on the film which was broadcast later and is now available on YouTube!
It was an interesting experience and we feel priviledged to have been part of the history of London and the Olympics 2012. It was also an excellent opportunity to explore London House.
