London Stansted Corridor Consortium - Bio-medical futures in the corridor

Greer Deal, Director of Global Regulatory Services (GRS) is Chairing the "Bio-medical futures in the corridor" session at this prestigious event.

 

Key note speakers included Rt. Hon Greg Clark MP (HM Treasury), the business chairmen of the area’s four Local Enterprise Partnerships and Cabinet leads from Essex, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire.  Key topics included the future of Stansted Airport, where next for Tech-City and bio-sciences in the corridor (chaired by Greer Deal), as well as workshops on skills, major development sites and improving rail links. 

 

The London Stansted Corridor Consortium is a private sector led partnership bringing together key business representatives and local authorities along the M11/Lee Valley corridor.

 

The objectives of the corridor are to:

 

  • Promote the growth of existing business and encourage new businesses into the area via a coordinated approach;
  • Support the diversification of the economy, focussing on high growth business and sectors, such as food, logistics, leisure, IT and especially the growth of a low carbon economy;
  • Lobby for improved levels of investment, especially in transport and social infrastructure;
  • Support innovation and facilitate knowledge transfer and business support to improve productivity levels and sustainability
  • Facilitate raising skills levels and develop stronger links to employers get more people, especially young people, into work through apprenticeships and work other based training
