Press Release: Global Regulatory Services (GRS) are ‘nuts’ about allergy therapy

5/2/2014

Global Regulatory Services (GRS) is proud to announce that their client, Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUH), has achieved promising results from a study involving a new therapy for peanut allergy.

The results of the largest single trial of its kind worldwide were published in The Lancet on 28 January 2014.  Allergy experts found that 84 and 91 per cent of the two groups of children treated with this new form of immunotherapy could eat at least five peanuts a day.

“This is a major breakthrough and, when you consider that peanut allergy affects one in fifty children and can result in death, it is easy to see that this new therapy will revolutionise people’s lives” says Bobby Deal, Managing Director.  “Here, at GRS, we’re delighted to be providing CUH with regulatory advice and guidance as they continue to work towards helping these allergy sufferers and their families return to a normal life.  To be able to work with such dedicated researchers developing therapies which, one day, will take the fear out of people’s lives is so exciting and is a key reason why we get up in the morning.”
